 Youth Vote Is LIVE — Help Us Spread the Word!

Voting for Youth Power Participatory Budgeting (YPPB) is now open! From April 13–28, youth ages 12–26 who live, learn, work, or play in Long Beach can vote on how $500,000 will be invested in youth programs this summer.  Voting is 100% online and takes just a few minutes. Youth can vote for their top 4 favorite projects.

📣 Long Beach Public Service Corps 2026 — Applications Open!

The City of Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity is now accepting applications for the fourth cohort of the Long Beach Public Service Corps Program (LBPSC) — a civic service initiative building a pipeline of diverse, local talent committed to serving their communities.
Fellows are placed in City departments where they contribute to real projects advancing Long Beach's priorities while gaining meaningful public service experience.    Applications close: Tuesday, June 9, 2026

🏆 SIC Honored by Children's Defense Fund California

In February 2026, Success In Challenges founder Leon Wood was recognized by Children's Defense Fund California for over two decades of dedicated service to Long Beach youth and families. This honor belongs to the entire SIC community.

🏅 SIC Wins Youth Power PB Award — 2025

SIC was selected as a 2025 awardee by the City of Long Beach Office of Youth Development through the Youth Power PB (Participatory Budgeting) program. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to centering youth voice and investing in community leadership.
